Cosplay mania
Another major Otaku event happened last Oct 4 and 5 and its Cosplay mania '14 the turn up of the event was amazing there were so many cosplayers and convention goers gathered in one place, there were also lots of booths including their major sponsors. The convention had so much activities that the participants can join in like the selfie contest where you guess the character using a small portion of the picture. and also a eating contest sponsored by one of the guys who sponsored for the foods. there was also 4 major cosplay competition. these are the tournament of the champions, Solo showdown, Team battle, and Hall cosplay masquerade it is where contestants are just in the halls of the convention center.
There was also many international guest that came to this event and most of them are cosplayers and bands from japan where all of this otaku culture started. The tickets of this event were affordable and there is this special ticket where you are granted all access and a VIP treatment. I my self Cosplayed for both days of this event on the first day i Cosplayed as Kohta hirano from Highschool of the Dead and on the second day i cosplayed as BoB from Tekken.

Adventures of a newbie cosplayer
Cosplaying or Costume play is Expensive and time consuming the money and hours you spend on making the costume but after that phase it will be a fun journey because of new friends and because of what you gain when you enter a competition a cash prize, freebies, and the boost in confidence. I started cosplaying just for fun it was in my school and now i go cosplaying and major events but i don't enter the competitions because i still lack the confidence do to so.
For those of you who wants to start cosplaying make sure you have the time and money but not all the time you have to be rich to cosplay be resourceful and creative use the materials around you. Another tip that i could give is pick the right character for you and research about that character know it well so that you can be in character when you cosplay don't just cosplay your favorite character know if that character fits you and you are not limited on characters of the same gender you can also cosdress it doesn't mean that you are gay or anything it only means that you have a very flexible and good-looking face to be able to cosplay both genders. Here is me Cosplaying a perfect Character for me:

Recomendation
Another new anime series release this 2014 is the fantasy action anime seirei tsukia no blade dance. full of action and comedy scene. It is a light novel series written by Yu shimizu with illustration of Hanpen Sakura. it consist of thirteen novels. The anime series aired in july of 2014. For me its a good fantasy action anime but not as good as fairytail. this anime is also an ecchi so it may include alittle sexual content but the story of this light novel is good and really interesting because of the mystery behind the true identity of the protagonist.
It is jam packed with fighting because the anime is circulating around the tournament called
'blade dance" where the winner will receive one wish. Hope you like this anime and i hope this helps you in what anime to watch next or what manga to read next.

Japanese urban legend
Some of us Filipinos think that our urban legend is so scary, well you haven't heard about Japanese urban legends. This urban legends really sends chill down your spines. here are some of them
Toire no hanako-san
the legend goes when you knock three times on the 3rd stall from the last one and ask hamako san are you there, She will answer. This legend is same as the bloody mary of western origin. this legend has different variation depending on the place or school. there is a version of this legend when hanako answers and the person opens the door he will be killed, there is also one version where hanako's bloody hands reach out of the stall.

Hitobashira
hitobashira is a prayer to the gods so that the infrastructure will not be destroyed in times of disasters or calamity it is said that human lives are offered to the gods to ensure the structure will not be destroyed. Stories like this also spreads here in the Philippines and some of the structure here that was build a long time ago is said to have some human remains in the walls and in the pillars of the structure.
Red Room Curse
This urban legend is fit for the generation today this legend involves the internet and a computer. a pop up will show. the image simply shows a red door and a recorded voice asks "Do you like-". Even if the pop up is closed it will repeatedly reappear until the voice finally completes the question: "Do you like the red room?". Those who have seen the pop-up are found dead, their walls painted red in their own blood.
this legend involves a murder case in japan called "sasebo slashing".

japanese horror movies
Everyone knows the best horror movies come from Asia to be specific Japan. unlike western style horror movies Japanese horror movies focuses on psychological horror and tension building that particularly involve ghost or poltergeist while many contain theme of folk religion like shamanism and yokai. Japanese horror movies not only scare the life out of us but also makes us think because we to know the reasons "why is it happening who is at fault and what is the reason" its the suspense of the movie that draws us to it, it is the reason we still watch it even though we are scared. J horror movies also teach us about their tradition and culture, folklore.
here are some of my favorite and i think is scary JHM. :3
Chakushin Ari ( one missed call ) trilogy

Day 2 Cosplay :3
Everybody wants to express their uniqueness, some express it in poetry others in song or dance but some others like me express it in Cosplaying. In day two of TOYCONPH2014 one of the highlights is a cosplay competition.. :3
Where people dress up like anime, game, or manga characters of their choice. Cosplaying is not just a means of expressing ones uniqueness it is also an art form and a way to expand our Circle of friends.
